Storms & Editing

Did you know there were going to be bad storms Friday afternoon? I did not. I realized they were bad as I pulled in the driveway Friday and the garage door wouldn't open because we had no power. The storms that were not so fierce in Battle Creek apparently did a number on our little town. After I stopped pushing the button on the garage door opener, I quickly realized that I didn't have my house key with me either... so I sat in the driveway and waited for Chad to get home. There was quite a bit of damage in our neighborhood (the street was flooded in two places and leaves/twigs/branches were everywhere). Lucky for us, the outside of our house was not damaged. Inside smelled like burning. We lost our brand new surround sound system, the surge protector it was plugged into (so much for the expensive Monster brand), our telephone/answering machine, Chad's desktop and the office t.v. Nice, huh? We drove around looking at the damange, which was pretty substantial in some areas.

Our neighbors house (to the left of that tree is our house... any of the other branches would have taken out our garage).

A few blocks down (
Channel 3 news van was already there)

Another tree, another house

Initially we thought this was on fire, but the homeowner was in the backyard smoking meat haha! The damage today when we drove by was really showing after they got the tree removed (holes in the roof, deck was a total loss).
We got our power back in the evening sometime. Thankfully there were no bad accidents!

In other news, I've been playing with Photoshop Elements a little bit. Here are some of my recent pictures.
My grandpa took this after our wedding (almost one year ago!!). The flowers turned out red, so I adjusted the color back to their beautiful hot pink and cropped out the bystanders that I could :o)

Little Miss Lola and I were playing outside.

I mentioned this photo before and I'm a little happier with the black and white conversion on this picture. Although, pictures of Aiden and Eliot don't need fixed b/c they are the cutest cutie patooties ;o)

That really stinks that you lost so many electronics in the storm. I would not be a happy camper.

Your Photoshopped pictures look great!
