WE CLIMBED A REAL MOUNTAIN!

Yesterday, we all went to Hanging Lake near Glenwood, Colorado, (we had to go through Glenwood Pass. It was the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. We were driving through a canyon in the Rocky Mountains and they were awesome. I have pictures that will be loaded after we get home. It was soooo pretty.) on what was supposed to be on an easy hike. Not so! First, Chad and I are used to having oxygen in our air, which mountain air does not :) Second, it was STEEP the entire 1.2 miles up the side of the mountain. It took us 2 hours-ish, but we finally made it to the top, which was amazing. There was a crystal clear lake with 2 waterfalls feeding into it. We walked around behind the waterfalls and managed to get wet, which felt pretty good after being so sweaty. The water was probably 40 degrees as it was fed with melted snow. The bottom of the lake was making travertine (the high end stone that is popular for counters and floors right now), but it didn't look very nice. Going back down was easier than going up since our lungs weren't burning, but our legs were pretty tired by that time and were shaking a little bit. However, we all made it and now we can say that we climed a real mountain to the top! :)
